What is Scoliosis ?

Scoliosis is a medical term for spine, where spine takes the form of "S" or "C", it's bent toward left or to the right, it can be outward or can be inward, in any way spine is not straight anymore. If you go to Mayoclinic website, at there doctors define it as being abnormal curvature of spine.

Exercises for Scoliosis 

There are different exercises designed to help and end the scoliosis pain.  These can be stretching exercises, yoga, lower, middle and upper back exercises.

1. Yoga 

Yoga is considered to be one of the best exercises in scoliosis. Yoga helps our body to be stretched, and this stretching is the basis for bringing spine to it's original form.

These yoga exercise include Supine leg out ( In case you don't know what supine is below is an example of supine form ), Supine knee twist, making back passively in the position of arc, the crocodile twist ( you lie on your back on the floor, then you twist half of your lower body to the right and then to the left ). If you regularly do these exercises in the morning or evening, these yoga exercises will sure relieve your scoliosis pain and can bring your spine to it's normal position.

Exercise for Upper Back

There are different types of upper back exercises that help to correct the shape of spine. All you have to do is to sit in a chair, bring your forearms along with elbows in front of you, place them on your thighs. Now staying in this position start to bring the forearms backwards, and at the same time squeeze your back making the form of an arc. Stay in this position for one minute, then come back to initial position. Make ten repetitions of this exercise.

Exercise for Middle and Lower back

Come into the form of supine, then bring your knees in such a way that knees point upward. Attach your back to the floor as firmly as you can, stay in this position not more the twenty seconds then come back to supine mode, do this ten times, this will help strengthen your lower and middle back muscles.
